This is the story of a Bear and a Lion . . .

Lets start with the Lion. Alesha Bilbrough-Collins is a chef who started her journey right here in Christchurch, studying Cookery at CPIT. Alesha's journey has taken her round the world, including working for the likes of Ramsay Holdings and Ottolenghi in London.

 

Meeting her Bear in London, a rare native New Zealand Bear, a new journey began. The journey home to Canterbury. The Bear and Lion popped into the culinary delight that is Melbourne, for a few years on their way back, eating and experiencing the best that Melbourne has to offer.

 

Upon returning to New Zealand Alesha and John got married and BearLion was created. 

 

BearLion Foods commenced as a market stall at the Christchurch Farmers Market at Deans Bush and has grown and we now have our Delicatessen in New Brighton.

 

Everything in the Deli is made with love, by hand and in small batches.

 

For those of you that haven’t heard about us, we are your Real Food option. Bringing new flavours and exciting old favourites with a healthy spin. BearLion Foods provides a range of "REAL FOOD" options showcasing quality organic, local and seasonal produce. With the focus on education of food choices including good fats, natural sweetness, organics, raw and living foods.

 

We also cater to people with food allergies without having to sacrifice any of the taste. 


BearLion Foods is a good, honest, beneficial real food option.
