It's a not so well known fact that Bears like burgers. In fact if Alesha let me, this little Bear would eat burgers everyday.
We know that there are a lot of people out there that also enjoy smashing a burger; but why do burgers have an unhealthy reputation? Burgers can be as healthy as you make them.
The first and most important place to start is with the integral part of the burger . . . The Pattie.
From here you have a foundation upon which you can build a 100 different different burgers. You can add and mix any number ingredients to create the burger you desire. We have recently been creating open burgers on a bed of Iceburg lettuce; a great gluten free option.
A few of our staple burger ingrdients include gerkins, cheese, mustard, bacon and avocado.
I think my stomach just rumbled!
Lets return to the reason for this blog, the burger pattie.
BearLion - Lamb Burger Pattie Recipe
Mix all ingredients well and leave out for 30 mins to get to room temperature before shaping into patties and cooking. The patties should be about as thick as your thumb. Fry in hot pan (will be enough fat in mince so no need for oil).
Once golden brown, flip to cook the other side. Continue to cook until same colouring on the second side. Turn off heat and let rest for 5-10 mins.
Awesome with Mushrooms, Salad Greens, Natural Yogurt or Tahini.
